Default DWS06 Contis or Michelin PS4S

So, I've got some new wheels coming in this week and I'm trying to decide on tires. At 285/30/22, my options are limited. I decided on the Contis over Nitto and Yokos and I already knew the PS4S weren't manufactured in that size in the US.

However, I just found a distributor that claims they have the PS4S in 285/30/22 in stock. The Contis are considerably cheaper at $1035. The PS4Ss are supposedly the superior tire, but they're $1840.

Does anyone have experience with both? I'm not sure I can justify the extra $800 if the tires are only slighly better.

I have a separate winter set. I also spend time at the track and in Mexico, so performance is important.

I don't see how the Contis are even close to the PS4S on the track or really performance in general. I had AWS and AWS06 on my A7. I had debated on getting the Contis again but went with A/S 3+ and love them. I would think the PS4S would be much better than the 3+ for track days. I think the ExtremeContact Sport would be Contis version of the PS4S.

Sounds good, but those tires aren't available in 285/30/22. I ended up going with the Contis because they were the best available..

What are the major differences between the AS3+ and DWS06?

My DWS06 tires are pretty much worn out at 24k miles, and looking for new AS tires for the Northeast weather.

The 2 aren't that much different on paper. A lot of people love DWS06 and a lot love the AS3+. Tests both have them close with testers saying the Conti's are a little softer.

From my personal experience I think the AS3+ take potholes and bumps a lot better than the DWS06 I had on. The last DWS06 I had were 245/45/18's and I thought the extra sidewall would be a lot better for bumps and potholes. Well, the 275/35/20's I have on now honestly take them better in my opinion. Again, this is only my experience but have read others say the same.

Thanks for the feedback.

Part of me want to get another set of the DWS06, but the other part want to try the A/S3+. I am in the Northeast so need a set of AS tires that do well in rain and snow.

According to Tire Rack Testing the performance is almost the same between the 2 in every test with 1 slightly outperforming the other. A lot of guys will say it's a toss up. Though Tire rack said the ride is firm I don't think that at all. I think the tire absorbs potholes and such very well. Again, 1 man's opinion.
