Default Gary @ TireRack: Continental ContiProContact for 2004 Audi A6 Avant?

I am looking to replace the OEM Tires on my 2004 Audi Avant Quattro with new tires.

The OEM Tires were Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 235/45 R17 94H. I have approximately 35,000 mile on these tires.

This past winter I used a more aggresive winter tire, Michelin Pilot Alpin, 235/45 R17. I plan to use these tires from mid-NOV thru mid-April.

I am now looking for tires for the April thru October timeframe ("3 Seasons"). Based on my priorities, I am looking for a "Grand Touring" type tire.

Based on research at the Tire Rack site, I am seriously considering the Continental ContiProContact. This tire appears to be a good match for my driving needs and for my Audi.

I would apprecite your comments and advice on the use of this tire on my 2004 Audi Avant Quattro. I will be using these tires with Audi OEM (Ronal) 17" Avus Wheels.

Thanks!<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR4&amp;url=%2Ftires%2Ftires.jsp%3Fvehicle Search%3Dtrue%26amp%3BtireMake%3DContinental%26amp %3Bpartnum%3D345HR7CPC%26amp%3BtireModel%3DContiPr oContact%26amp%3Bplace%3D2%26amp%3BfromCompare1%3D yes%26amp

We've had very good experience with the ContiProContact so far, especially for the price.

Just be aware that it may be a slight step down in dry grip and steering response from the OE tire. Wet traction, ride and wear should be a bit better.<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AR8&amp;url=/tires/index.jsp">Tires</a></li></ul>

Default Gary @ Tire Rack: Please clarify your comments

Thank you for your quick reply to my question.

I have been using the Tire Rack Custome Survey Date (see link below) to compare the ContiProContact with the Pilot HX MXM4 (the OEM tire).

Based on this Customer Survey Data, it appears that the ContiProContact is rank as superior to the OEM tire in all measurement points.

Based on your comments, am I missing something about the ContiProContact performance?

Thanks!<ul><li><a href="http://www.tirerack.com/tires/CompareTires.jsp?sortValue=1&amp;displayResults=3& amp;compare=true&amp;compareList=0%2C2&amp;RunFlat =None&amp;goWhere=%252Ftires%252FCompare1.jsp&amp; width=235%2F&amp;ratio=45&amp;diameter=17&amp;spee d_r

Keep in mind that the vast majority filling out those surveys have driven on both tires as many here at the Tire Rack have.

Is there an equivalent substitute for the Conti ProContact? I'm having no luck finding them in 205/60Hr15 for my 1991 100 (non quattro).
I have Michelin MXV4 on it now and it's replacement time.
Thanks
