Default They're talking about the studs ( the fully threaded bolt) that then take a nut.

For your Audi, you still need lug bolts (not nuts).
For instance, on my S6 with BBS CH rims, I need 14x1.5/60 degree cone seat taper/28mm usable thread/53mm overall length lug bolts (which in the Gorilla catalog is item #17018 on pg 13, and the coinciding locking lug is just a little further down that same page).

Hello! RAD makes studs and proper ball lug nuts for same...email and see..

Default I KNOW! sheesh - he was talking about the Gorilla product. There's plenty of ways to get around

the type of locks with a non-hexagonal head (and I'm not going to list them here). A freely rotating sleeve around the head on the other hand sounds more difficult to get around/steal.

Default might want to also ask them about weight...

If they're significantly heavier than a regular lug bolt, then it might cause vibrations or something at higher speeds (since with 1 of 5 bolts being heavier, it'd be an uneven weight distribution)

Rather close to the hub. Most vibrations are further out the radius, in the tire mass area.

Good point. They sell packs of 20 (balanced) but they don't have the slip shield. Could buy 5 sets and have every lug locked....$$$ ????

Default Those are locking "LUG NUTS".....(more)

You know, some cars you have have bolts sticking out of the wheel hub where you mount the tire. However, that is not for our type of car. We have "LUG BOLTS" where the bolt is screwed throught the wheel into the Hub. You need to scroll down to page 13 of their catalogue, which is Wheel Lug Bolts and Wheel Bolt Locks. Depending on the wheel, that will determine the length of the bolt you need, as well as whether you need a ball seat or a cone seat (my BBS take Cone, and the stock Avus take Ball). As an FYI, most American cars use a lug nut system, while most German cars (I've owned Audis, BMWs and VWs) use a lug bolt system. It sounds more difficult than it is. If you go to a wheel shop, and tell them the make and model of your car, and the wheels you are using, they will tell you the length bolt and the type of seat that you need. Then it is just a matter of picking the style lock you want; Gorilla, McGuard, etc. You will only have one choice per brand, and whether you want it in aluminum (good if it's hidden under a center cap as you're not paying extra for chrome plating) chrome, black chrome, etc. They may have multiple brands in stock, so they can show them to you and you can pick out which ones you want. It's not as difficult as it seams.

Not significant. They know that only one is being used per wheel.
