Did I miss something? Why can't you just use one "Gorilla" per wheel?

you can..they happen to also come in bags of twenty and since the lugs are exposed I wanted them all to look the same....and make it a pain in the butt for someone to steal them.

$50 for 20 locks?

that sounds a little on the cheap side...you sure they're all locks and not just lug bolts? (nice deal if they are)

Re: $50 for 20 locks?

yup. You get 20 of the ones listed in the bottom 2 rows of the photo. they're lugs but keyed. They're cheap because they're simple.

Ted K 05-02-2002 07:54 PM

Yeah, also, in one part of your post you say you got 20 lugs and another you say 25. I'm assuming

you got 20 normal bolts (4 per wheel) and one lock per wheel.

Ted K 05-02-2002 07:56 PM

If you are in fact talking about putting 5 locks on each wheel, I think you may have went about it

wrong. They sell complete 25 piece sets with 20 lugs and 5 matching locks. You put 4 lug bolts per wheel and 1 lock. For those of us with wheels that have center caps, and the lug bolts aren't exposed, they make sets of locks only that contain 4 locking bolts. Get the point.

Ted K 05-02-2002 07:57 PM

I'm totally confused. Your car should take five bolts per wheel. Why are you talking 20 (4 per

wheel).

Now you have lost me. 20 divided by 4 wheels is 5 lugs per wheel. My putting 5 locking lugs per wheel is no different then people who buy the gorilla 20 packs that contain 20 wheellocks (lugs nuts that require a special wrench). They also sell 20 packs that contain 16 lugs nuts and 4 wheel locks. Since the audis don't use lugs nuts, and the entire lug bolt gets replaced, it is just as easy to get all 20 lug bolts with the secure keyed heads and use those. I have a uniform look (I don't have caps) and every lug requires the same keyed wrench. I don't understand the confusion.

BSOD 05-03-2002 06:36 AM

Hey Ted, (4 wheels)x(5 lug bolts/wheel) = 20 total lug bolts

it's just that every one of his lug bolts is a wheel lock, so essentially 20 wheel locks.

Ted K 05-03-2002 02:51 PM

You'd figure I could add. Okay, so all 20 bolts require the key?? That's a new one on me, but sounds

okay. I just thought the 20 packs were 16 standard lug bolts that can be removed with any standard lug wrench and 4 locking bolts that have a unique head and require a key.
