Just put the winter rims on and had a bitch of a time getting the hub centric rings to slide onto the hub. I used a wire brush to remove any rust and sprayed the hub with WD 40.
Was that a good idea?
2.These rings still are sticking and when and if I get a flat it will be snowing cold and dark.Trying to get the ring off will be tough as the rim will come off leaving the ring in place.
After the winter i often have to use WD40 and a pipe wrench to grab the ring to get it off.
Any suggestions as to what to do?

anti-sieze....wd-40 evaporates, drips off, etc.

get rid of rust, good, do what these posters say and add anti-sieze paste to inner wheel hub too.
