Default Maximum Tire size for stock A4 2.8 Quattro rims

I've got a 2000 A4 2.8 Quattro with the stock 16" rims which I love. They currently have the stock 205-55-16 Continental tires on them, which just don't handle all that well in performance driving. I'd like to put on 225-50-16 Bridgestone RE-730s. Will those rims accomodate that size tire without any problems? Is there a more optimal tire size/make I should consider?
