You don't see a problem w/not being able to give a single strait answer to a simple question?
Without getting into it... other car forums, people eagerly give an answer in the form of a single word. Something smells funny over here, srsly. "Over-thinking" describes much of it.

I read it again and understand. I intentionally directed a singular answer.
Maybe "performance" is not the best single criteria, because that causes issues for some people. I think you know what I'm getting at in my OP, but want super-clarification. I'd say the "right" answer would be a tire that was "surprising good" or "exceeded expectations". The "free set" model seemed good, until we started considering specialized tires which needed to be replaced in a certian order.

It's not semantics though. Even your clarification to the question is still vague... (more)
However, I'm guessing that you were just interested in everyone's "favorite" tire regardless of the reason.. like building up a list of favorite tires regardless of tire type. With enough data you'd end up with a list of everyone's favorite tire that you could break apart by category. The same data could probably be easier collected by asking for favorite tires for each major category in:
What's your favorite summer tire?
What's your favorite all season tire?
What's your favorite winter tire?
It'd also be nice to get a short blurb on why it was the favorite. Granted you got some of that information in replies to the post, but I think you could get more data by breaking it apart.
