recommendations for where to remount tires in the boston area?

pretty soon, i'm gonna need some new rubber on my 18x7.5 volks. however, i have absolutely no idea who to trust around boston to mount 235/40 rubber on these rims without knicking them. anyone have any recommendations? i was thinking about wheel works in newton since if they knick 'em, at least they'll be able to fix 'em ;-)

Direct Tire

they have multiple locations. (Watertown, Natick and one other...) A little pricey, but they do a good job for me.

check at tirerack.com...they have a recommended list

I picked a place from that list in Medfield, near me and have been delighted with them.

Find a shop that has a Hunter gsp9700 and a TC3000 series.

You don't have to worry about the maching scratching your rims, and your tires will come out well balanced.

Here's a link to a shop locater:

http://www.gsp9700.com/</a

what's the name of the place you picked?

Most of the Sullivan Tire shops have the Hunter 9700--too bad they only sell Goodyear.

They also sell Kumho -- but pricier than Direct Tire!
