Default B5 avant 16" all season?

Was swapping on my winter wheels and realizing the summer tires will need to be replaced. I used to run ultra high performance 225s, but do not drive as aggressively these days. Looking for 205 all seasons that are sporty performance wise but also very good in rain. They will not be on the car in winter, but an unusually early or late snow means they might see some. What looks good these days?

Thanks

Conti DWS are a great bargain and Michelins are always good.

The DWS look good. Was also looking at the Exalto.

The last Michelins I had had those tread locking sipes. Not bad in snow or wet and gripped well once they planted, but felt a little mushy at slower speeds and turn in. Have not tried the brand since, but am not opposed to them.

The reviews on Tire Rack are a great source to look through.

Agreed, and I do. I have also found though that a tire that is great on one car is awful on another. With fewer B5s on the road each year, it is harder to find reviews from people with one. Not sure if it even follows that tires that are great on an A4 from the last four-five years is a good comparison as I do not know if camber etc have changed in a way that would affect how a specific tire performs. Currently running Goodyear Eagle GTs and they were pretty good tires. A little noisy but plenty of grip and were good in the wet, though the tread is now low enough to make me slow down so as not to hydroplane. Bought them based on Tire Rack reviews. Forget when I had right before that, but when I originally ordered the rims from Tire Rack when I got the car I had them mount Sumitomos, I think they were called HT +4s, in 225. They had incredible grip and were good in rain but had to be off the car if there was even a chance of a dusting of snow.

Currently, besides the DWS, I am thinking about the Potenza RE970AS. Would be the first symmetrical tires I have had in a long time if I get them.

Thanks again.
