Default Tires For my 1991 90Q 20V sedan

I am looking for a set of summer tires for the 90 in 205/50-15.

Considering the Fuzion ZR1, General Exclaim UHP and the Yokohama S. drive.

Any comments or suggestions. Gary from TR, your take would be appreciated.

Regards,
Tom

The S Drive would have the best dry grip, handling and steering response between the three, while the General Exclaim UHP would have the best ride and longer wear. I like either of those better than the ZRi.

Gary,

Do you have any thoughts on the Sumitomo HTR 200 or HTR Z in that size in comparison to the others I have mentioned?

These are older tire designs that are just fair overall.

I've had my General Exclaim UHP's for 2.5 years now and they still have great tredd left and still handle great. Will Buy another set for sure!

Speaking of buying another set...Hey Gary how much do the General Exclaim UHP's go for each for a 225/45R17" size. Total cost for 4 with shipping to Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Thanks in advance!

Sorry...hijack...Burlington (Evo1...) huh?

Oh and to at least make it close to on topic, for the 90(B3) you want to go with a fairly stiff sidewall. With the geometry of the control arms, it benefits from the stiffest sidewall you can get. However, it'll get really choppy if you go too low in profile. Compared with the newer B5 and up setups, the suspension is pretty crude.

Of course your driving prefernces are your own.

Hi Squid,

FYI I am running the 2Bennett C/O's on the 90. Got the Vogtland GT's on my B5 S4. I don't know exactly why, but I really like the handling on the 90 with the 2Bennett setup better. Much more precise steering and less body bounce over bumps and dips. Much more controlled feeling. Surprisingly the ride is pretty good too. The Vogtlands on the S4 seem to make the body bounce up when I hit a bump or dip. Makes it feel not as stable compared to the 2Bennett on the 90 which just seems to soak up the bumps and dips without bouncing up.
