A wheel with a 35mm offset will stick out farther than a wheel with a 45mm offset, correct?

A wheel with a 35mm offset will stick out farther than a wheel with a 45mm offset, correct?

Yes, assuming that the width is the same. The higher number of ET, the more the wheel will go to the inside of the car (away from the fender on the outside). For example, I see that TT and A3/S3 wheels have offsets in the 42/45 or so range. They will be very flat toward the face and tuck in to the car. Lower offsets, i.e., ET25 will have less backspacing, and move to the outside of the car (i.e., flush).
OP, be sure to check what the correct bolt radius is for the wheels you get. Your stock bolts are R14, my Slines and others are R13, and I think some of the other wheels may even be R12. If it's not right, they won't seat right in the hole of the wheel.

I think differences in wheel width is more visibly obvious than offset - you are talking 10 mm = 1 cm which is less than half an inch. this is just my educated guess
