Wheel and tires size Opinions
I have a 2017 Audi S3, with zero mods. I need new tires and I also have a question...I have the OEM wheels 19x8x19 now but I’m purchasing new wheels 19x8.5x19. Currently running 235x35x19 tire. I know the 19x8.5 will fit this tire size and it also fits 245x35x19. I’m sure someone is running the 245x35x19...If you are, are there any rubbing issues? If so, what should I be aware of...? |
You may want to post this question on the S3 board. |

I think you should be fine. We've done that set up on an S3 with no issues. We've also done a 20x9 without issues.

Tire Size different from OEM
I recently purchased a 2014 S5 Cab Prestige. Had brand new Michelins on the car when I purchased and didn't really notice the size. Went to check the recommended tire pressure and noticed the the OEM is 255/35/19 and the tires on the car are 265/35/19. I used the tire calculator I found in a thread and the differences aren't huge but width and sidewall are about 5% larger and diameter only around 1%. Not much impact on the speedo readings but wondering if the 0.4" in extra width could cause an issue? Hate to toss brand new Michelins but also don't want any mechanical issues. Any thoughts from someone with more expertise? Thanks
