Winter tires on 2018 Audi A6 Technik
I'm finding conflicting information in reagards to what tires and rims I can out on my 2018 A6 Technik. I currently have 255-40-19R all season tires, and I would like to go down to 17's for the winter. Some shops say I can but other's say it's 19 minimum. I tend to believe that as the disks and calipers will be too big for 17's?

Rick, welcome aboard!
If you open the Owner's Manual, tire inflation pressure section, you'll find a list of the various tire/wheel sizes that work on your car. I'd also check at forum sponsor, Tire Rack, for alternate (minus) sizes that will work.

The platform, C7, is the the same.... Your only concern should be wheel clearance over your calipers and rotors.
I know for a fact that a 18" wheel will work for you, but not 100% certain about a 17

Thanks for the info guys. 17's don't fit but 18's do. The 18's I'm looking at however are 18X8 as opposed to the 19X8.5 that are currently on the car. When I plugin these numbers into willtheyfit.com, I get this message: Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 6.3mm further away from the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 6.3mm less than before.
Would 6.3MM be an issue? Seems like a very small difference

6.3MM is hardly anything - about 1/2 CM, so I wouldn't even sweat that.
