Default winter tires

I am planning on getting an 2018 SQ5 with 20" sport tires. I plan on purchasing snow tires. One dealer told me that I should go down an inch or two when purchasing snows. That means new rims. I wouldn't purchase audi rims due to the cost. So if I get third party rims can I get rims that will work with the tire pressure indicator? Would love some feedback.

Just check in at Tire Rack. They have all sorts of packages assembled for your car.

The majority of Audis sold in the USA since 2010 don't have in-wheel sensors for the TPM system.

Welcome aboard!

thanks for the reply. I'm curious, how does the TPM work?

Based on the brake package for SQ5, we can go down to 19" wheels with either 235/55R19 (persistent / heavy snow accumulations) or 255/50R19 tire size options. (We have not found an 18" wheel that will clear the calipers). Both sizes are within 0.2" of the 255/45R20 OE tire diameter, so there will be no issues with any "speed based" systems like ABS or Traction / Stabilty control; You can review our options here;

FYI, we normally start seeing rebates ($ 50 to $ 70 on a set of four tires) in early to mid September for snow tires !
