Audi A4 B8: How to Remove Front Seat Headrests

Whether you want to remove the headrest to install a seat cover, or you just want to go without, this guide will help you remove the front headrests in the Audi A4.

The front headrests in your Audi A4 are designed for your comfort; however, your comfort level can differ from what the manufacturer had in mind. Luckily, if they just aren't comfortable for you, the headrests are easily removable and can be replaced with comfier ones or perhaps ones with video screens built-in. If you simply want to add a seat cover, you will need to remove the headrest first, then put the seat cover on. Whether you're removing the headrests for comfort, cleaning, or for personal reasons, read on to learn how to quickly do it.

Materials Needed

Step 1 – Locate the release button

Locate the release button on the bottom of the headrest. It's located on the side closest to the window.

Step 2 – Squeeze release button

Squeeze the release button on the side closest to the window.

Step 3 – Pull headrest up

With the release button squeezed, pull the headrest straight up to remove.
