1. Audi TT RS

Audi's latest and greatest TT uses every trick in the automaker's book to give the sports coupe supercar performance. That means a 400 hp, turbocharged 2.5-liter five cylinder engine driving all four wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. 0-60 takes a mere 3.6 seconds, which also makes the TT RS blisteringly fast. Combine that with fantastic handling prowess and you've got a car that impressed Hagerty enough to land it a spot on their 2017 Future Collectible Car top ten lists.

2. Audi Coupe Quattro (1990-1992)

There are plenty of reasons to like the Audi 90-based B3 Coupe Quattro. For one, it has a racing pedigree. For two, it was quite a revolutionary and significant car in its day. This was the first Audi vehicle to come with a 20-valve, five cylinder engine, which was turbocharged and put out a respectable 170 hp. It was also the first ever mid-size car to have a zinc coated body, which helped protect it from rust. For those reasons, if you can find one in good shape today, it's certainly worth holding on to.

3. Audi RS3

What's not to love about the RS3? For starters, it's a performance bargain. The hot compact comes with Audi's excellent 2.5-liter five cylinder engine producing a stout 400 hp. With a sub-4 second 0-60 time and an MSRP ringing in at under $55k, that's what we call a deal. That is if you can find one that hasn't been marked up by a dealership.

4. Audi RS5

Audi's latest RS5 eschews its old V8 for a 2.9-liter, twin turbocharged V6. We miss the noises that the outgoing, naturally aspirated engine bellows out of its tailpipes, but you can't really go wrong with downsizing in this case. That's because the new engine matches the old ones 450 hp but ups the torque to 443 lb-ft. For those who simply have to have a coupe, the RS5 is a sure fire future classic.

5. Audi R8

Most supercars, with few exceptions, tend to hold their value and popularity through history. And the R8, with its distinctive styling and performance, promises to be no exception to that rule. This is especially true if the future of the R8 brings any sort of downsizing in the powertrain department. Collectors will no doubt one day covet big displacement, naturally aspirated supercars, as they appear to be a dying breed with hybrids and turbos proliferating the market.
