1. What’s the meaning behind the “Audi” name?

The “Audi” company name is based on the Latin translation of the surname of the founder, August Horch. "Horch" means "listen" in German and becomes "Audi" in Latin.

2. What do the Audi rings represent?

The four rings of the Audi logo represent one of four car companies that banded together in 1932 to create Audi's predecessor company; Auto Union: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. These companies form the roots of what is today AUDI AG.

3. Audi rings logo description

The Audi logo was recently modified in 2009 on Audi’s 100th birthday. Minimal changes in the print, size, color and common appearance were made. The logo is created to sign “Vorsprung Durch Technik”, which means “Progress Through Technologies”.
