Can you think of a better all around car?

In southern Austria, there is a much larger wagon presence than here in the states with Audi's RS models eating at the top of the food chain. These Audi vehicles range from new RS6s and RS4s and go all the way back to the original RS2 and even B5 RS4s rolling around too.

Golfs and Škodas

Renowned for its tuning potential, the Golf has unofficially become the baby RS4 with over 300 horsepower and AWD in a package. That being said, the new Golf 7 and 7.5R in wagon form were a frequent sight. The Škoda Superb Combi, the minimally mentioned cousin of the Golf, can be had with the same driveline and specced with the same engine of the Golf R. Not many folks know this as it is kind of a secret Euro car and is an unexpected package for the vehicle.

One powerful MB

With this little wagon get-together being a celebration of all things VAG, there was no shortage of VW Group cars in sight. However, other German automakers could show up and spread the love of how awesome these wagon vehicles are. Mercs could be found with several AMG models sprinkled among the neighborhood of the small lakeside towns. BMWs were there as well but sadly in the normal spec as there aren't any proper M-specification tourings anymore.

How low can you go?

The thing that you'd see with all of these cars, no matter the badge on the bonnet is how much these owners love and care for them. Another thing I'm sure you've noticed is how gobsmackingly low these vehicles are off of the ground. Many of these are running on air systems so that they can lift things up should it be necessary, but otherwise keep things ridiculously slammed.

History in the making

Another neat thing that you'd find if you ever make it out to visit Wörthersee is the famous VW statue in Reifnitz. This small town lies on the edge of Lake Wörth and is a hotspot for owners to meet up in the weeks leading up to Wörthersee. It was there that Volkswagen would make its announcement of the new track-honed 326hp GTI TCR hatchback.
