Purity of Driving

There is a different level of commitment required to own and drive a car like the 2023 KTM X-BOW GT-XR. It's undeniably one of, if not the coolest pure precision driving experiences one can have with a street-legal vehicle. And with a starting price of over $280,000, the lucky owners of these machines are certainly going to forgo a lot. It might just be worth it, though. Click on to see why.

Striking Looks

Austrian manufacturer KTM is proudly presenting the newest addition to its family of products. The X-BOW is their first-ever road-legal four-wheel vehicle. And they've done a magnificent job designing it. The striking looks of the track-ready beast are enough to steal the hearts of most. It boasts proportions similar to those of Le Mans endurance racing prototypes. And most importantly, it seats only the driver in a central position within the cabin.

Fighter Jet Vibes

What sets the X-BOW GT-XR apart from everything else in the market is the cab opening. No traditional doors, no gullwing doors, and no roll-forward Koenigsegg door. This car is designed to make its driver feel like a fighter jet pilot in every conceivable way. Ingress into the KTM's cab is only possible by pressing a button on the key fob to open the canopy and climbing inside.

Ready to go Racing

We'd imagine driving this car could only be described as a blast. With a curb weight of just 2,491 lbs, whipping this thing around the race track would be delightful. Powered by an Audi-derived turbo 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine, the X-BOW can reach 60 mph from a stop in 3.4 seconds. The 500-horsepower mill is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch direct-shift transmission, sending power to the rear wheels. A proper track-friendly 25-gallon fuel tank is fitted low behind the driver and in front of the engine, giving the car an estimated driving range of 621 miles.

You'll Need the Options!

Speaking of going racing, there is a change kit available as an option, making it easier to switch the center-locking wheels for fresh rubber during track days. The aforementioned $280K+ price of admission is just the start. In order to maximize the car's potential and enjoy it to the fullest extent, buyers will likely benefit from purchasing as many of the additional performance options as they can. One of the coolest parts of buying a KTM X-BOW GT-XR is that one can order theirs in virtually any color they want!
