HPerformance Built a 2nd Gen TT with 740BHP

Slideshow: The German car tuning company HPerformance has created several high-performance Audi cars. This particular one is however somewhat extreme, and both the acceleration and the stopping ability has been greatly improved, to say the least. The engine for example now produces some insane 740 Horsepowers.

The turbo

From the factory, the Audi TT RS produces a not so modest 335 horsepowers from a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. The torque is at 332 lb/ft. To get more than a moderate improvement in these numbers, that is to get insane power, the turbo has to be replaced. In this case, the original turbo has been swapped out by a bespoke Garett GTX-35 series turbo.

Other engine modifications

To match the new turbo installed, HPerformance has fitted a larger intercooler, new fuel pump and injectors, a 90 mm air intake and a 90 mm exhaust following their own exhaust manifold. The ECU is also upgraded to make sure that everything works smoothly together. With the new upgrades, the engine produces 740 horsepowers and 649 lb/ft. That is about twice as many horsepower and torque compared to when the engine left the factory.

Ceramic brake discs

To ensure that all the power the car produces can be stopped as efficiently as possible, the Audi TT has been fitted with ceramic brake discs from Audi R8. These brakes measure 380 mm (15") at the front, operated by six-piston calipers, and 356 mm (14") at the rear, operated by four-piston calipers. These brake discs are very light-weight, weighing in at 15.2 Kg (33.5 lb.) and extreme temperature resistant and durable.

The body

The exterior of the car has been only subtly altered not to disclose the true nature of the car. For the alert viewer, there are however a few giveaways that this is a very potent car. On the sides of the car, there are red vinyl letters reading "HPerformance". The letters HP, short for HPerformance, are also present on the new intercooler showing through the grille. To round it off, the car also features some nice golden rims. In total, subtle but enough body modifications to be able to identify the car once you know what to look for.

Insane performance and decent price

HPerformance charges, in comparison, a modest price of 50,000 EUR for the full package. That price doesn't, however, include the Audi TT RS itself. This gives you a car with enough power to match much more expensive cars like Lamborgini Aventador and Ferrari F12. Would you rather spend more money to get a Ferrari or would you take an Audi with the same performance?
