Some of the more immediate specs

Referred to as the Audi Sport Performance Parts R8 Edition, this brilliantly engineered vehicle will come with a three-way adjustable suspension, more carbon, and downforce, and milled 20-inch wheels wrapped in cup rubber.

Who will have access to one of these 44 models?

As mentioned earlier, Audi Sport will only build 44 of the Performance Parts R8 Edition, and the cars will be spread out thereafter. For instance, the United Kingdom's allocations stands at five units. As for America, the company plans to bring the car here, but they have not committed a timeframe against it yet.

How much for an Audi Sport Performance Parts R8 Edition?

The car will start at £176,560: That’s $224,386.93 USD. For comparison’s sake, the regular R8 V10 Plus starts at $194,400. You do get some bang for your buck though. Pretty much every extra is ticked, so you get the sports exhaust with those bucket seats. Plus, each one will feature right-hand drive and come outfitted in Misano red.

What does a Performance Parts Edition R8 mean anyway?

In short, it's an R8 with a bunch of Audi Sport performance parts added. This includes a carbon fiber aero kit consisting of a large fixed wing, side skirts, more aggressive air inlets, a deep splitter, a huge rear diffuser and canards.

How does this R8 perform?

This R8 produces 551 lbs. of downforce at 205 mph, which is 220 lbs. more than what a standard R8 V10 Plus could achieve. Perhaps more importantly, you still get 114 lbs. of cornering help at a more modest 93mph. And, it’s worth noting that in an effort to save 17.6 lbs. in unsprung weight, these 44 super special R8s come with milled 20-inch wheels sprayed black, shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. They hide ceramic brake disks with titanium backing plates, while the calipers pack brake pads sourced from the very same motorsport shelf. Finally, the three-way adjustable suspension is also lighter than the standard system.
