1. Geneva Motor Show

Earlier in 2017, Audi displayed their 2017 Audi Q8 Sport concept at the world famous Geneva Motor Show, where the best and newest European models are always displayed. Shortly after, Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Audi Sport, announced that Audi will indeed go through with producing the Q8. The Q7 has been the top SUV in Audi's lineup, but the Q8 is set to raise the bar.

2. RS Q8

Although there hasn't been any clear announcements regarding an Audi RS version of the Q8, Winkelmann has confirmed that there would be a range-topping version of the Q8. On August 1st of this year, papers were filed in the EU by Audi reserving the name RS Q8 for future use, so things look good. The jump from the already announced Audi Q8 to a more powerful version won't be too difficult for Audi, and the Q8 is the perfect SUV to steal Mercedes-Benz GLE and the BMW C6's fans.

3. Engine

With talks about a car like the Audi RS Q8, curiosity kicks in and the questions start rising. According to Auto Express, the RS Q8 will be equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, which should deliver more then 600-horsepower and over 590 pound-feet of torque. This would put it right in the running with the Porsche and Mercedes.

4. Lamborghini Urus

The Q8 should be sharing its platform with the highly-anticipated Lamborghini Urus SUV, as they are all part of the VW group. Like the Urus, the interior of the Q8 will have nothing but the best, finest materials, as well as the latest features. If the RS Q8 makes it to the production line, you can expect it to have a version of the turbo V8 destined for the Urus, as well as adjustable suspension, bigger brakes, wheels, and tires.

5. Estimated Price

With an engine that is shared with a Lamborghini Urus, the Audi RS Q8 will probably have a hefty price tag. Auto Express estimates this unique luxury performance SUV to cost approximately $130,000, but for a more accurate number we'll just have to wait. We expect Audi to tease a near production version of the Q8 at one of the upcoming auto shows, before actually debuting it to dealers and the press officially.
