Top 5 Promising Audi Concept Cars

The same holds true for the future of Audi. There are a few notable concepts cars worth mentioning and being fond of.

1. Steppenwolf

This was first presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2001. There were many unique features to this 3 doors compact crossover SUV. Some of those included the 4 wheel drive powered 3.2l V6 or the 4 level adjustable air suspension (found on today's Allroad model) or the optional soft top!

2. Rosemeyer

During the year 2000, this vehicle was shown through multiple auto shows throughout Europe. This was a unique concept that combined modern design elements and classic styling of the former Grand Prix "Silver Arrows". One car, in particular, that was driven by Bernd Rosemeyer, which the vehicle was named after. The mid-engine W16 produced a whopping 700hp and was paired with Audi's Quattro 4-wheel drive system. Ultimately, the Audi R8 became this concept's successor.

3. Nuvolari

This concept car was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show of 2003. It is also known as the "Lisivina". This vehicle was Audi's next vision for their GT vehicle. This concept was displayed to deliver a 5.0L, twin-turbo, V10 with Fuel stratified injection. (FSI). The output was 553lb feet of torque with 591 brake horsepower. It certainly looked the part as well! Another fun fact is that this vehicle was created in honor of legendary race car driver, Tazio Nuvolari.

4. Prologue

This luxury coupe concept was first unveiled at the LA auto show in 2014. With a 4.0 liter V8 TFSI engine, this concept was putting down 605hp and hit 0-60 in under 4 seconds! What's more is that this vehicle contained every modern bell and whistle available. Everything from self-leveling air suspension to dynamic all-wheel steering and last but not least, the 'zFAS' - the main computer located in the trunk that controlled all functions of the vehicle, including dynamics.

5. H-Tron

Imagine a sporty, classy SUV that ran on solely Hydrogen cells? Now fast forward to 2016 NAIS in Detroit. Feast your eyes on the latest and greatest from none other than Audi. The fuel cell technology is so efficient that it only uses 1kg per 60 miles. A full tank provides the operator roughly 380 miles. Talk about fuel economy! To that end, the vehicle is to be recognized for zero emissions, globally. The fuel cell and high voltage battery power both axles and provide ample voltage output. This 5 door SUV bears impeccable aesthetics and aerodynamics lending even more to the impressive technology and extremely futuristic design.
