Audi of America confirms Audi AG offer to install ESP on TT models

AUBURN HILLS, Mich.--In order to provide United States and Canadian TT customers with the most current product updates, Audi of America will offer all TT owners the option of purchasing Audi's Electronic Stability Program (ESP) for their vehicles. This confirms Audi AG's similar announcement in Germany on Friday, February 4.

"We want to provide our U.S. and Canadian TT owners with the same options as were recently announced by Audi AG," said Len Hunt, Vice President, Audi of America. "By offering our North American TT owners the choice of purchasing this newly available option, we confirm Audi's intent to have one product standard worldwide."

Audi AG's announcement, that it had been able to develop ESP for after-sale installation, was in response to German customers' requests for ESP to be offered on TTs. Audi AG has stressed that installing ESP is complex and not technically possible at Audi dealerships. Audi of America is therefore evaluating the feasibility of various installation alternatives and anticipates that this effort could begin some time late this year.

Audi of America will keep TT owners informed by mail as definite plans are developed. Since its debut in May, Audi of America has sold approximately 6,000 TT Coupes in the U.S. and Canada.
