Audi 1 - 3 in Speedvision GT at Road Atlanta

Braselton, Georgia - Michael Galati and teammate Derek Bell finished first and third at the Petit Le Mans Speedvision GT race presented by Audi at Road Atlanta.

Galati led the race from the drop of the green flag from his second place qualifying position. Derek Bell followed the Olmstead, Ohio resident for some nine laps making it an Audi one - two.

At the beginning of lap 10, P.D. Cunningham passed Bell for second only to have Bell come back 7 laps later to continue behind his teammate. The sporstcar legend passed Cunningham's NSX into the hairpin with an out-braking maneuver.

Audi is also in a tight battle with Porsche for the manufacturers title with only one point separating the two.

Quotes after the race:

Michael Galati, Champion Audi/Audi S4 Competition: "I had a great quattro start. I was glad to have Derek in my mirrors for the first half of the race. My car was great, we did a good bit of work since Laguna Seca and the car is performing excellent. We are doing what we have to do to win the championship."

Derek Bell, Legends of Motorsport/Audi S4 Competition: "I had my usual good start and was finally able to capitalize on it. I was glad I was in somewhat of a position to help my teammate on his way to the championship. It is refreshing to be running at the front of the pack, score some points for Audi and put some money in the bank."

Rod Bymaster, manager Audi Sport North America: "It was a great race. Michael and Derek really looked good running 1-2 at the beginning. We witnessed some renewed fire in Derek and he is really helping us this weekend to try and secure the manufacturers title. Michael is looking good toward the championship, but the race on Sunday will be very exciting.
