AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — In an effort to further enhance the overall ownership experience and assure vehicle quality at the highest levels, Audi of America, Inc. has appointed Marc Trahan to the newly created position of Director of Aftersales.

Under Trahan’s guidance, the company plans to double its technical field force to serve as liaisons between the dealer organization and headquarters. It will also significantly increase the size of its Product Support and Technician Help Line Group to increase dealer support and help shorten resolution time.

Further milestones include creating a special Product Quality and Analysis Group to better analyze and anticipate potential issues and concerns, as well as adding more personnel and infrastructure to Audi’s Customer Care Group, thereby helping improve customer satisfaction. Additionally, Trahan is responsible for the development of a centralized product/parts database for shortened response time and participating in special monthly “quality roundtable” meetings between Audi of America and Audi AG in Ingolstadt, Germany, for enhanced corporate communications.

Trahan’s main objectives in this new position is to continue to advance product quality and improve customer satisfaction. He is approaching these objectives by gaining early and broad feedback on product performance, as well as implementing firsthand field observations into future product development cycles. Additionally, he will focus on helping dealers achieve full potential in all aftersales business areas for Audi products.

Trahan’s career with Audi spans nearly 25 years and covers virtually every facet of product service, support, planning and development. Most recently, he served as the company’s product management leader, during which he was instrumental in expanding Audi of America’s product portfolio and bringing the coveted “S” performance models to the United States. Prior to that, Trahan was Audi’s product planning manager and played an integral role in the 1999 U.S. introduction of the Audi A4.

A native of Vermont, he currently resides in Oakland Township, Mich., with his wife, Jane, and two children.

Audi of America, headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich., set an all-time U.S. sales record of 83,283 cars sold through 260 Audi dealers in 2001, the company’s sixth consecutive year of double-digit growth. Its parent company, Audi AG, is headquartered in Ingolstadt, Germany, and markets a line of luxury cars built in plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, Germany, and in Gyor, Hungary.
