Customer Racing Programme for Audi in 2003

After winning the Le Mans 24 Hours and the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) three times in a row, AUDI AG has restructured its motorsport programme for the 2003 season. The Audi R8, today´s most successful sportscar, will continue to race next year and will be entered by customer teams supported by Audi importers.

Negotiations with Audi importers and teams, interested in racing the 610 hp sportscar, are ongoing. It is planned to continue the partnership with Reinhold Joest´s team in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS). The customer teams will be able to count on Audi works drivers Frank Biela, Rinaldo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Emanuele Pirro and their huge experience.

In addition, Audi will continue its successful collaboration in Germany with Team Abt Sportsline in the DTM (German Touring Car Masters). On condition that a minimum of three manufacturers take part in the DTM series in the future and that the regulations continue to guarantee equal chances to the different cars.
