Northeast Audi Expo 2003

The Northeast Audi Expo, which has undeniably grown to be the largest Audi-only enthusiast automobile show each year in the United States, was once again a very exciting few days of owners, automobiles and vendor booths this past weekend.

The lengthened three day event kicked off on Friday night with a reception at the spectacular new Fathers & Sons dealership. Fathers & Sons is a family owned dealer selling not only Audi, but also the Porsche, Volvo and Saab brands, and received the Audi faithful graciously with an open bar. The showroom includes one car that is not for sale: an Audi R8 LMP900 racecar.

For the show day on Saturday the event was held outside next to the Young Building at the Eastern State Exposition. The forecast unfortunately called for rain during the weekend, which perhaps dampened attendance a bit. Of course nothing could keep the Audi diehards away. The morning started wet, but as the the vendors moved in and dried out their booths the show came to life.

Mother Nature showed some mercy upon attendees and held off the rain for the remainder of the day, although it was still a hot and humid New England day. AudiWorld's booth was right across from the entrance to the site and we sold our new AudiWorld logo t-shirts and Audi Sport North American hats and flags. As with any large gathering of enthusiasts and vendors, the day moved quickly checking-out the rides and talking to attendees.

Most of the top manufacturers, distributors, and resellers of Audi-related performance parts had booths at the event as well, so show goers had the opportunity to see the products first-hand and speak with the vendors. The vendors brought out all the goodies including turbo upgrades, ECU upgrades, suspension products, body kits, headlight kits and much more.

The finale of the event occurred Sunday morning beginning with a breakfast buffet again at Fathers & Sons, and followed by a scenic cruise through Western MA and Southern VT. The AudiWorld driver team of NeilM and donp drove Stratmosphere's chipped RS6 up to Stratton Village in what can fairly be described as a wild ride (full coverage to appear in a subsequent article). The events of the weekend made a great way to meet fellow Audi owners and enthusiasts and enjoy the vehicles too.

Even if you missed the Northeast Audi Expo (or just need to continue your Audi fix) there are a few more great events coming up this summer including Waterwagens 2003 in the Seattle area September 1st. AudiWorld is a sponsor of the event and we look forward to seeing you there!
