  • Particulate filter fitted as standard on Audi cars

Audi is now fitting all new diesel-engine cars with a particulate filter as standard equipment. AUDI AG is thus fulfilling its promise considerably sooner than legally required of equipping all TDI models with filter technology.

The standard introduction of filter systems sees Audi closing the gap in the range – the diesel particulate filter was already a standard equipment item in the past in many car lines and models, such as the A8 and the A4 Cabriolet.

The filter systems fitted by Audi are closed systems which have an efficiency rate of over 95 percent. Even before the introduction of the diesel particulate filter, all Audi models satisfied the Euro 4 emissions standard which is currently the most stringent emissions standard. This has been achieved by means of internal engine modifications, enabling clean, low-particulate combustion. Clean combustion will remain to be a goal of developers at Audi in the future.
