  • Audi A5 and S5: discovering the coupe anew
  • Audi A3 1.9 TDI e and A4 2.0 TFSI e: clean high performance
  • Audi Q7 4.2 TDI: the world’s most powerful diesel SUV

The Audi A5 and S5, the Audi Q7 4.2 TDI, plus the particularly efficient, eco-friendly Audi A3 1.9 TDI e and A4 2.0 TFSI e – these are the five German premieres that AUDI AG will be unveiling at the 17th Auto Mobil International (AMI) from 13 to 22 April at the new exhibition centre in Leipzig.

These five exceptional cars will be the focus of attention at the Audi press conference with Jorg Felske, Head of Sales Germany at AUDI AG, at the AMI press day in Leipzig: Audi Press Conference, Audi Stand, Hall 1, 13 April 2007, 9.45 a.m.

A very special German debut will be made by the Audi A5, which successfully unites the acclaimed Audi design language and thrilling driving dynamics, and combines generous refinement with the brand’s characteristic quality and sophistication. The progressive design has been perfected to ensure the new coupé an appearance that is both elegant and dynamic. With its powerful FSI and TDI engines, its entirely newly developed high-precision suspension, and its innovative, luxury-class equipment features, the Audi A5 has been crafted to be a modern grand tourer, a touring coupé in the best tradition. The Audi S5 rounds off the new model line with its supreme levels of sportiness. Its superlative V8 FSI engine gives the S5 a dynamic edge, which underscores its athletically accentuated design.

The latest additions to Audi’s high-volume A3 and A4 model lines will also be making their German motor show debut: the A3 1.9 TDI e and A4 2.0 TFSI e are especially efficient in the way they transform fuel into propulsive energy. The Audi brand’s competence in the field of direct injection technology provides for powerful propulsion and a high degree of efficiency.

The A3 has been given higher transmission ratios for 3rd to 5th gear. The Audi A4 models are equipped as standard with a manual gearbox with an additional, high-ratio 6th gear. The engine electronics have also been tuned in each case to give particularly good fuel consumption. All new versions offer great everyday utility and particularly economical mobility.

Further special details of these models enable the customer to make even more efficient use of fuel. A common feature of the e models is the gearshift indicator. It indicates whether the next gear would be a better choice in the given situation – valuable additional information for a fuel-saving driving style.

Exemplary, low fuel consumption figures and CO2 emissions (just 119 g/km for the A3 1.9 TDI e) are thus possible, as are extremely high fuel ranges in excess of 1,000 kilometres per tank of fuel and – as is only to be expected – the driving pleasure typical of an Audi car.

Audi will be presenting the most powerful diesel SUV on the world market – the Q7 4.2 TDI, with a state-of-the-art eight-cylinder engine generating an output of 240 kW (326 bhp) and 760 Nm of torque, and featuring common-rail injection and piezo injectors. However, it is not only unadulterated power which makes this version stand out, but also its outstanding efficiency: the 4.2 TDI gets by on an average of just 11.1 litres of diesel per 100 kilometres driven.
