The following is a paraphrased excerpt from a book I have ("Get Clark Smart" by Clark Howard):

Insurers usually offer approx. 70% of what it would cost to buy on the used car market on their first offer. Check out edmunds.com to find your car's true market value before it was wrecked. They're the most accurate out of all of the estimate guides. Once the insurance company realizes that you've done your homework, they'll be more fair & honest.

If they won't budge, accuse them of failing to act in good faith & request a face-to-face meeting w/ the adjuster & their supervisor. You may also have the option of hiring a 3rd party appraiser or public adjuster to be your advocate, ask your insurance company if they will cover that...some will depending on your contract.

If you have a loan against the vehicle & they STILL won't budge, talk to them about "substitution of vehicle," where the insurer finds you a similar vehicle as a replacement. If they think the vehicle is worth so little, let them find you a replacement vehicle for that price.

Thank God you didn't have a child in the backseat!

looking at 2 opposite ends of the specrum... lol. 10yr underpowered V6 to brand spanking new V8 monster =P Those new S4s do sound real sweet going down the track though... got a nice exhaust note, that's for sure.

Girlfriend's house and the guy's Insurance co. gave me $92400!! I had 90K miles.

..you have twice as much so don't take less than 4500 (shoot for $5000 & show reciepts of recent work done)....just my opinion.

I realize you have high miles...but $3200?
