10k service...
 

i just got my 10k service done and i brought a case(6 quarts) of mobile 1 synthetic to be used. well, when i got my car back, i didnt get the 2 unused bottles and the invoice says "5.0 12122 10w/30 cas-oil". im assuming this is castrol motor oil and not the motor oil i asked to have put in, is there a way i can check to see if they used what i asked them too? is there a difference in color between the 2?

Never give them more than . . .
 

four quarts. I personally would raise a big stink with the service dept or even the general manager. No excuse for this.

I didn't even take them out of the case...
 

it kinda irks me if they took the case out of the car and put in the dino oil. i mean the case was on the floor of the passanger side, i cant believe they would have missed it...

Well you can ask them what they used.....mine was untouched at the 5k service.....
 

yet I specifically told the service manager to use my Mobil 1 and he put that down on the service order. Well it came back as "DONE" under that special order and guess what I found in the trunk.....all my Mobil 1 untouched. Service manager was very apologetic and said dunno what went wrong, however promised me when I am free I can take it back and they can do it again for me in 20 minutes (basically tell a tech to drop out everything he was doing and do mine first).

I ended up going back and they changed it back to my Mobil 1 0W30 and a new oil filter.
