Called AoA today, they said my VIN qualified for replacement of all 4 coil packs. I have not (m)
had a failure to date (THANKFULLY)....12,000 miles for a 4/02 build date.
AoA has my current address and phone number, so were they ever going to notify me about this? Any similar experiences? |
The letters are being sent in phases. Just go get your coils replaced.

Thanks. I made the appointment. I LOVE the 2 week lead time at my dealer to fix a known PROBLEM.
What crap!
|
same goes for me (2 week lead) and to think i had the letter when i called.

2weeks? two days for me but then again that could be a bad thing
|
They replaced all 6 of mine (2 were bad the 1st visit)

I thought coilpacks were just a 1.8T problem? --- just read a news article... guess not!
How would one know if one might have bad coilpacks on an 3.0?
|
never got a coil pack letter, but got all mine replaced last week.

I asked my dealer to replace my coils while I had my A4 in for other work and they said I had J coils and they didn't need replaced. I wonder if I should ask them to switch them to the L version. Have there been any J coil failures?

Engine stated vibrating; poor acceleration; etc.
Luckily my car started experiencing the problem only 2-1/2 blocks from my house. I returned home and called Audi, and they flatbedded my car to my dealer who told me I had two bad coilpacks. That was back in Feb. Two weeks ago I got the letter from AoA and brought my car in to have the remaining four coilpacks replaced.
