had a failure to date (THANKFULLY)....12,000 miles for a 4/02 build date.

AoA has my current address and phone number, so were they ever going to notify me about this? Any similar experiences?

The letters are being sent in phases. Just go get your coils replaced.

Default Thanks. I made the appointment. I LOVE the 2 week lead time at my dealer to fix a known PROBLEM.

What crap!

Default I thought coilpacks were just a 1.8T problem? --- just read a news article... guess not!

How would one know if one might have bad coilpacks on an 3.0?

I asked my dealer to replace my coils while I had my A4 in for other work and they said I had J coils and they didn't need replaced. I wonder if I should ask them to switch them to the L version. Have there been any J coil failures?

Default Engine stated vibrating; poor acceleration; etc.

Luckily my car started experiencing the problem only 2-1/2 blocks from my house. I returned home and called Audi, and they flatbedded my car to my dealer who told me I had two bad coilpacks. That was back in Feb. Two weeks ago I got the letter from AoA and brought my car in to have the remaining four coilpacks replaced.
