Engine Death? 2.0 TFSI 2009 A4 B8

Hi guys,
Hoping someone has a good ear!.... The below changed as engine was just f***ed Timing chain, all guides and tensionors changed Water pump changed cam shaft bridge changed (Old screen found intact in oil sump filter so it hasn't caused any damage) both intake and outlet cams changed valves re-seated Referbed block with new rings and existing pistons (were in good condition) Recently had a new PVC valve (around a year ago) The little thing that goes into the camshaft bridge and the inlet cam (I forget what its called) Standard new seals and gaskets Is my engine dead?! |

It is clearly having a misfire, you would need to scan the car and get the codes to help narrow it down further. As for the high pitched noise, it honestly sounds like a vacuum leak, which can also cause a misfire, IIRC on these engines.

Just thought i'd provide an update for anyone facing the same issue
It was the crankshaft rattling around as the thrust bearing had completely been shaved away New block finally in, going to try today! |
