MY19 A4 Canada

On the RFD in the Audi thread, I asked a well known Sales Manager if there are changes to MY19 A4 (canada) and he said there are no changes or any updates to packages.
Apparently the A5/S5 will get the Black package (black optics in the US)

I guess if there are any Canadians browsing here, you should still get MY18 since it will be the same
Order guides coming next month

So... are they still taking orders for Canadian-spec 2018s? I presume they're not taking 2019 orders if the order guides aren't out...

I worry about this for my own lease end in 2 years - lease ends early July 2020, I'd like to custom order another car, most likely MY2021s won't hit by then, will I be able to get a late order MY2020?

That's a good question, from the looks of it I think you can still order 2018 like you said since 2019 order guides are not out yet.
For the MY2018 I believe the order guide came out earlier than this year. Maybe everyone year is diff.
Still going for another A4 in the future? :p

Hard to say - I might be tempted by a Q5 too. :) (except you can't get a blue Q5 without the evil evil evil evil S-Line package, I think...) Or I think I'd absolutely love the A6, but my wallet wouldn't.

I suppose I might theoretically go to another brand too, but I've been quite pleased with this A4 so far. Not sure what I'd rather have instead - certainly, if the car got totalled tomorrow, I don't think any other brand is offering something in that price/size point that would tempt me instead...

Yup - I know your hate for s-line and black headliner lol
Quite agree with you as to how pleased I am with the A4. If they had the digital dash right for the C-Class I would of chosen that instead of the A4...2019 C-Class has it now
Hopefully by then 2020/2021 some refresh comes out for the A4, would love to see the center screen be at least 10"+ instead of 8.3

It's not just the black headliner, it's also the lowered sports suspension (but I'm not sure S-Line on the Q5 has that... and really, a lowered Q5 wouldn't be as bad).

I considered the (2016) C class... and frankly, I rejected it because of the harsh ride. I blame the run-flats, though it doesn't help that the car I drove, like just about every other inventory C class in Canada, had the sport package (which I'm not sure includes a sportier suspension). In the US market they offered a 'comfort' suspension bundled with 17" rims and the old-school MB grille, but that wasn't offered here (there was a 'luxury' package with the old-school grille but not a different suspension).

I love the digital dashes, don't get me wrong, but they'd have to do a lot more than add that to make me tempted by the C class - improve ride quality, increase interior space, improve start/stop system refinement, and maybe improve their engine...

My mom just trade in her old q5 for a new q5 at pfaff for a private sale, really good deal... but theyre selling the MY18 cars because MY19 is coming ..I assume for MY18 A4's it'll be whatevers already at the dealers.

JDA_yeg 05-17-2018 09:57 AM

I wanted the C-Class too. I followed the MBworld forum on it, and the car had too many issues and problems across the board. The A4 on the other hand, had much much less issues and complaints by the owners. Audi is, according to the stats, is more reliable than MB so that's why I've considered the A4 over the C-class.

I hope the new C-class fixes those issues though so I can consider it again.

Excuse my cluelessness... but... what was so appealing about the C class? I checked it out because I wasn't sold on the A4 after my first test drive of the A4, and... well... I couldn't understand why I'd pay MORE for THAT car...

It's a pretty gorgeous vehicle. I hate to admit it, but the interior of the C-class is superior to the A4. The A4 needs to step up in the interior department compared to the new C-class.

to each their own... couple reviews online have already said audi's interior is much better than m-benz...i like how audi tries to keep stuff more simplistic

That's weird though because supposedly the new 2019's will have the new Audi Connect Connectivity and Infotainment features.
So there has to be some kind of changes to the packages - unless they make it backwards compatible with previous Audi Connect enabled cars?

Obsidian3K 05-22-2018 04:19 PM

Transport Canada also permitted the use of Matrix-style LED headlamps in March (effective immediately), and more than a couple of us are hoping that they'll appear on the MY19 order guide.

I wouldn't put too much stock in what the dealership sales manager "knows". If there's one thing I've learned from perusing /r/askcarsales, it's that dealership staff, if they're very lucky, find out about model/incentive changes a day before the internet at large. If they're not lucky, dealers learn about changes from customers who have received communications from manufacturers before the dealers themselves have.

If you think about how often salespeople know less about the cars in their showroom--and service managers know less about active TSBs--than we do, this is definitely within the realm of reason. So I'll believe that there are no changes for MY19 when I see the order guide, and not a moment before.

SNGGA 05-23-2018 04:03 AM

I would love MY19 to have no change so that my MY18 will not look out of date just yet, I doubt they will have any cosmetic changes.
If MY19 gets some upgrade to Audi Connect then man tht sucks for us older models. Highly doubt Audi will make it backwards compatible, that would be too nice of them :p
I really wonder when Audi would at least give us one standard DAP feature like in the States with Audi Presense City. Hell just make the entire DAP standard like a lot of the other manufacturers...

There are a few changes that showed up in the 2019 order guide (in this version thus far). Rear view camera standard in Komfort. Audi Virtual Cockpit is now OPTIONAL in the Progressive trim level. Also Audi connect Navigation and Infotainment Services standard in Progressive and Technik. No mentions of the Matrix LED.

Awesome! So the order guide came out!

VM 05-23-2018 02:31 PM

Any changes in colours? Or engine/transmission?

This is not the final version yet. There may still be changes.

Is there a new blue at least??

So I went to European web sites looking to see what they were offering there. At audi.co.uk, no sign of any blue A4s anymore. Audi.fr will sell a scuba or moonlight blue still... for 1050 EUR. That makes me think we get a great bargain on paint up here in Canada...

Then I figured I might as well try other European countries with languages I can understand. Audi.ie has scuba blue still for 1,252.44 EUR. No blues at audi.be.

Obsidian3K 05-29-2018 12:19 PM

I visited my Audi salesman today to give him a chance to convince me not to accept a screaming deal that the salesman of my current car offered me on a CX-5.

During my visit, we looked at a copy of the 2019 order guide that he received just yesterday, and it appears that Moonlight and Scuba have been replaced by Navarra Blue. That was on the Allroad and we didn't look at the regular A4, but so far they've had exactly the same paint options, so I'd wager the sedan will also get Navarra Blue as an option.

Although Navarra looks a bit darker and much richer in Audi's online configurator (comparing Allroad to S5), in person on a sunny day (Allroad vs. SQ5) the difference is a lot more subtle. I'm a man who has strong opinions about blue cars, and I'd be hard-pressed to reliably tell the two apart unless they were parked next to each other.

Everything else (at least for the Allroad) was as joellau91 described. It still isn't the final order guide (no prices yet), so hope for Matrix LEDs remains...

I think on the Q5, at least, Navarro Blue requires the evil evil evil evil S-line package. Did it look like the Allroad Navarro Blue also requires S-line?? :(

S Line no longer required for the 2019 A4s for Navarro Blue.

What I described (including reference to joellau91's post) was the complete list of changes for the Allroad. As mentioned though, this is not the final order guide, so other changes may be coming.

If you're interested in changes on other models, I can ask for a copy of the interim MY19 order guide with some quotes I'm expecting tomorrow.

VM: The Allroad Sport package doesn't change the suspension; it adds sport seats, 19" wheels and summer tires, and the black headliner, which I think makes it only evil evil evil in your books ;)
For what it's worth, having driven various configurations, I find that the Allroad w/ Sport package drives like a non-S-line A4, which makes sense given that the Allroad has taller sidewalls at each wheel size than the A4 (245/45R18 vs 245/40R18, and 245/40R19 vs 245/35R19), and a softer suspension unless you opt for the adaptive and ratchet it down to dynamic, or so I hope.
IIRC, on the Allroad, MY19 is the same as MY18, in that adding the Sport packageonly removes color choices, it doesn't add any.

I'd really appreciate if could get the order guide!!

I'm dealing with AOA, placing a second replacement order for a MY19 A4 Allroad with nogaro full paint (Audi exclusive) and wanted to see the changes

The 2017 they took back, and now the 2018 has a paint flaw that they've agreed to replace. Soooo the wait continues :)

Just to confirm, you know that this is a Canada-specific thread, and that Canadian Allroad packages are different than American ones, correct? The differences aren't gigantic (IIRC, mostly features shuffled around on different trims, plus the Canadian cars get 19" wheels and summer rubber as part of a Sport package), but there's no guarantee that changes up here will be replicated down there. Especially if Matrix LED headlamps do make their way onto the order guide, since the DOT hasn't gotten around to approving the technology yet.

If you still think it'd be useful, I'll see if I can get the current order guide tomorrow.

Also, sorry to hear about your ongoing bad luck with Allroads. Given the amount of time it has taken me to decide on what I want, I can only imagine how painful it would be to finally get the car, need to get it replaced, and have a factory order go wrong :(

Yes I would appreciate it!

It certainly has been a long process, but Audi's taking great care of me.
