I am getting gearbox malfunction while driving. It only happens when car is cold, once its reached optimal temperature the warning from dash goes away and no error code stored in module. Did vagcom scan and it came up with above mentioned fault. Can anyone shed some light what it could be?

Thanks

I remember that Steve (IKnowHuhA6) had a problem with an electrical connection. Look through his thread - lots of info and some may apply to your problem.

Yes I have looked at his thread. His error code is different to mine. Not sure if cure is same. Lets see as I have booked my vehicle with transmission specialist for next week.

Had my car with transmission specialist yesterday. They advised electro plate kit and transmission cooling solenoid needs replacing at the cost of £1100 + VAT. I asked them to break down the cost for parts and labour so I know what I am paying for but they refused to give the price and said if I supply the parts they won't do the job.

Seems like I need to look elsewhere or bite the bullet and go with the quote.
