I have a '06 A6 and the main control knob started to bubble up, but its not paint it's like a vinyl and underneath it is black paint so I just removed the vinyl that was bubbling up. I removed it with my finger nail and now it looks just like it did before it started to peel. shrugs.

if u peel it it will look just like the color that is peeking in
Attachment 104527 i am guessing what happened is audi may have felt that some pieces finished color came out to dark of a grey and they attempted to put a thin layer of lighter color paint on them to better unify with other colors in car and on some pieces maybe a bit for texture the trick is to peel it and not cause scratching on the under layer maybe use some goo gone and a rotary tool w polishing bit heres how it looks from the underside notice the 3 screw/bolts and notice the center star cut ring plate holding the gold colored pin if u force it up u r trying to get the ring plate to reverse the flap angles and release the pin then u will have the ring plate accept the new button's pin Attachment 104528 |
