IE: Audi a6 2.0 diesel Shuts off while driving
Long story short, had this problem for half a year now. Last year car started to just shut down while stationary or driving, had esp light on, but could restart it and it was driving normaly, sometimes it didnt happen for 2-4weeks, sometimes i got it everyday. Last week the car just died and was cranking but not starting. After 2 days it didnt start so i checked all cables and conmectors and the car just started working! Today it happened again, shut off, cranking but no start, after 5mins its started working again. Called some places but they just saying that its probably injectors and fuel pump. But i have a feeling it might be faulty ECM relay or maybe ECU?? Have these codes from brakes. Checked plenum chamber and its dry and clean

Check all connectors in that area, disconnect and reconnect them several times to remove possible oxidation.

I'd recommend checking all the related relays and fuses to see if any are faulty. Sometimes just swapping out a relay can help you figure out what's going wrong.
|
Yes, that too!

Checked ecm relay, should there be something inside moving when you shake it? Under ecu only 2relays, one black 395 for fuel pump and one 614, part number 8e0 951 253. Disconnected 614 car couldnt start, disconnected 395 it started, checked all cables, maf and etc, all pins are looking good, scanned the car and no more codes for brakes.

If you shake a relay and hear or feel something moving around inside, that's not normal. It probably means the relay is broken or not working right.

Did you measure the relay with a multimeter before you ordered?
