2001 S8 4.2 no heat
I have problem with blowing hot air to saloon and I wanna check the HVAC pump but how do remove it? Pump hides behind fresh air blower box (witch I alredy broke). Any ideas?

For what it is worth, I had issues with heat and had a few different people offer different solutions. At the end, my mechanic suggested getting the heater cores flushed and all started to work perfectly again.

I agree, start by
Checking the temp, is the coolant getting hot? Bleed the air out of the system Backflush the heater cores. Maybe also check the coolant temp and any mixture flap stuff in the HVAC diags (google for this if need be, there is a diagnostic mode for the HVAC control head). Check the center hot/cold wheel also, near the center vent in case that is confusing you. |
I warm up engine for a bit and run for a test drive.
Temperature in dash rise up fine. Then I check tubes and I notice that those pipes are ice cold: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...281fc3e831.jpg Also I did VDCS test, no fault codes. |
OK then, continue as above.
|
The both pipes must to be cold when engine is at 90C?
|
I'm not sure what you mean. But I think you should continue following the other suggestions now that you have checked to see that the engine is getting hot.
|
Well, i did check the hvac pump, everything seems work. I try connect those two pipes from last photo directly to one of the saloon radiators but no heat, feels like antifreez not even coming... No one is pumping liquid.
|
Is that fluid proper? I know there are some green 's that are supposed to be g12 but if not then oxidation could be at work?
|
I only see brake fluid pictured? But my S8 has green coolant in it, not a problem as long as it's maintained properly.
