Hello, new to AudiWorld. Lots of great forums on here so far, I have just posted a brief introduction on the new starter fourum, After discovering out why my bluetooth doesn't work due to previous flood damage I am looking to retro fit a complete MMI in my Audi A5 , I have secured all the bits, I will fit and install, but just read about Component Protection and came across this page, would it be possible to send me Jack's details so I could reach out to him.
Take a look below.... I will need to change seating wiring as well llhttps://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...573fe10196.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...d6ff52971d.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...14c771a736.jpg |

Component Protection Removal
I've been trying to get in contact with Jack with no success. Does anyone know if he still performs the service of component protection removal?

I did Skype Jack yesterday and he replied, so he is available at jacekk993 via Skype. |
I hope someone can put me in touch with Jack!
I just replaced my mmi myself, thought I could just swap them. Silly me. Now the protection is on and I can’t enjoy all of the functions. Last resort is going to the dealer unless I can get Jack’s help for a fraction of the price!

Hey I know this is a dead thread but I'm hoping my post will breath new life into it. I tried reaching out to Jack via Skype but nothing. Iv owned my b8 A4 for about 3 to 4 months now and my ears are killing me from the only highs issue. I scanned with obdeleven and it said Component Protection Active when I scanned the radio. Can someone please help or point me in the rite direction. If not has anyone had any success going to the dealer? If so what did they charge trying to get a idea on if it's worth it or not. So if anyone has any info or a lead on how to fix my issue please pm or respond here. I'll attach my screenshot from the scan. Thanks in advance if anyone can help or try to help. Also 2 days ago I was turning into a parking lot no bump or anything and I got bass and full rang for 3 seconds and then went back to highs only. So I'm leaning towards a broken wire somewhere but what's with the component protection. Another thing I noticed since buying the car months ago is that if u pull the vin through the mmi it is diffrent than on the chasis. So apparently someone prob replaced a part or the entire thing. I have gone through VCDS and coded it properly, but who knows. Any help with these issues would be huge as they r driving me slowly insane.
