You would pull the button UP.

My 2006 A8 had this correct, as you describe it. Up is unlock, down is lock.

My 2009 A8 has this reversed, which is incorrect.

shhh it add's to the list of new and improved features as "revised door locks" :D

Wouldn't flipping the pins on back of the switch fix this issue?
