TV Module for A8 - Where?
 

Where is a good place to get hold of a NTSC TV module for the A8. I would very much like to add this Audi module.

Is that the Euro TV module?

It's an option in Europe, but UK for example would use PAL not NTSC.

Just curious but ...
 

an aftermarket audio installer told me the TV Tuner is already in the D3 models but not enabled. Can anyone with a D3 verify that or is this guy just confused? The reason I ask is that if it is really there, then I think we could take the latest UK NAV disk and replace the map files with US files and get the TV Tuner enabled (probably not that simple, may require some VAG trickery as well). What do you think?

I'm pretty sure looking at the nav unit that the TV module is missing.

to a functional euro model TV tuner (like a gaming system, etc.), does not do anything for us yanks. I already spoke to these guys, they do not know anything about how the US model TV Tuner is disabled.

It looks easy enough to remove the module
 

It's hard to say if the complete TV tuner is in there or not. I suspect the PCB is not populated in the tuner section. When I have time I think I'll answer this question. Maybe tommorow.
