fun q for the day: have you ever been close to or spoted a celebrity?

i've got 2: greg lemond (the famous bicyclist) and prince......

when i raced mountain bikes there was a race in wiscinsin that was a 40 miler. he was the tour defrance winner and he showed up to race the mountain bike race. when i started, i was about 10 yards from him for a couple miles. then i lost him (ok, i lost the lead pack entirely). when i finished he had already left via helicopter. i was about 2 1/2 hours behind him. but in a 40 mile offraod race with 2500 people and professional teams, that's actually really good.

then, i've been with in about 20 feet of prince (the singer). i've been to many of his concerts over the years. 1 year we went to a concert of his in minneapolis (i think it was 87 or 88). anyway, we decided to go see paisley park, his big recording and filming studio. when we got there, they were loading things up for the concert so the gates were open. i just drove us right in and parked in front. we walked in the building and started looking around. there was his peoples choice awards, ama, and many others. i started snapping pic's. someone saw the flashes and came out with 2 very, very large men.

she was actually pretty nice and said that since we made it in we might as well get a tour. she immediately said no pic's. she walked us around a little until prince came out of a room in the hallway in front of us. he looked at us and turned and walked away. she ended the tour at that point and had us escorted out of the building and out the gates. it was pretty cool though. i've been very close to him in concert but i won't count that.

I was in a Motley Crue video...

and they sat across the strip from me. I'm the cheesy lookin' dude with the mustache and BIG smile.

The most recent that i can think of...

Another story along the lines of the Crue. But not as cool.

I was getting my ticket at a united kiosk in the denver airport. When I look over to my left and at the kiosk next to me is Vince Neil from Motley Crue. I didn't say anything...just gave him a "whats up" nod. He nodded back.

Then there was a time I was in chicago walking near wrigley field with my buddy (on some random night). When all the sudden I see kirk hammett from metallica walking towards us. I gave the usual nod.

My dad (i know...not me) was in a hotel elevator somewhere and jeff bridges walked in. My dad said "hi". He was thinking about saying some witty 'dude' comment but decided not to be that guy in an elevator.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I know I have more....I just woke up.

I just realized...Weren't we talking about the Crue and these same very stories a few months ago?

I don't think there would be anything cooler than being in a Motley Crue video, IN a strip club scene.
PERFECT!

Thats something you show your grandkids. :)

I shook Sir Jackie Stewart's hand a few weeks back! Chance meeting.

When I went to a lot of Phish concerts, I saw the band members...

getting high in the parking lot about 10 feet from me and I walked by. They were cruising around the scene before their show in a golf cart.

But nah, rural PA doesn't yield a lot of celeb sightings.
