RS3 oil change- need a filter wrench or not?
HI All
I'm getting ready for my first DIY oil change on my '18 RS3. I see various references online to a filter wrench tool, but videos that show there is no tool that works other than filter pliers. Is there a good tool to make the filter housing removal easy? Thanks! |

In my view owners' experience is the most useful feature of forums. As a first time Audi owner I have had a generally poor response to simple questions. |
I used this . Would recommend, it's hard to get a good grip on the filter housing. Also the canister drain tool part #T40057. Not necessary, but makes removing the filter a lot cleaner.

Thanks. Ordered!

Following up - used that wrench today and it worked perfectly.
Also a note that the crush washer on the oil drain plug does a very good job of appearing to be part of the oil pan. Don't be fooled. It came off easily once I put a flat bade to it. |
