EMD Grill parking sensor sensitivity
just had the grill installed and the sensors are super sensitive. It goes off when i'm stopped behind a car at a light and super early when i'm parking . I tried looking in the mmi menu and didn't see a way to turn the sensitivity down. any tips? grill looks great btw.. just need to get this sorted.

btw, I used the sensors that came installed with the EMD grill.

It’s a “feature” you get with this grille, that affects some people. It’s a known defect. I have similar issues, but only when it is wet outside. There’s no way to adjust the sensitivity, but you can turn off the auto detect option. Hit the P button then the + and then I think you uncheck the “Auto detect” or something along those lines. More info on the issue I wasn’t having here: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud...issue-2960592/ |
yup, saw that post but this wasn't false warnings when nothing was around and wasn't raining. Good news is I just ran an errand and the sensors weren't as sensitive as the drive home from the shop but still have to wait and see if I have any issues in the rain.
Saw the auto detect option on my mmi. if it continues to act up i'll turn it off. |
Can't help you with the sensitivity issue but nice grille!

occasionally it’ll get triggered by phantoms, or what seem to be phantoms. Main issue I was having and a few others are with rain and dirty sensors. You can try to adjust the angle of the sensor(s) ti see if it’ll help. My problem sensor is just the one in the grille on the drivers side. That the same one you have setting things off, or which one? |

Thanks! Your's too!
No clue... i'll try to pay attention to which sensor is going off next time. if it is the driver's side like yours... would it work to just unplug it? that way you still get the passenger side for parking and not going over the parking stops or will it trigger fault codes? |
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.aud...105d0ca82.jpeg Installed mines yesterday too. It was very cold in the part of Texas I’m at now.... and it was raining/ snowing last night. My driver side sensor in the new grill keeps going off for no reason. Other than that though, love the new look of the car. |
