Looking to add another Audi to the family.. Allroad.. Need advice

I currently have a B5 S4 and i was looking at trading my other vehicle (03 Nissan Xterra) in for a 2003 Allroad w/ 94k. I'm asking for input and some good advice on the purchase. Anyway, the car drives decent, body good condition. The interior has a couple things wrong (the center console cupholder is broken, whatever is located under the armrest is missing and from the looks of it, the 12v outlet is broken in the center console as well. Other than that everything else looks good. Transmission shifts fine, etc. The only thing i really noticed was the coolant in the overflow tank was brown. Not milky, it almost looks as if they mixed the wrong fluids or something. I was concerned at first but i really dont think its a headgasket or turbo problem. the oil looks good. Also, Im not all familiar with the allroad and the common problems to look for. The sales guy sent me home with a $10,800 price tag which was $1,000 less than sticker. After KBB and NADA listing the pricing seems reasonable.

Please any recommendations, info, allroad specific things to look for would be great. Thanks!

In a couple days im going to bring it home for further inspection (pressure test, VAGCOM, sparkplug check, etc.)

Besides running a scan on it, find out if the timing belt has been done (recommended at 90K) and the water pump along with it. Unless you are a DIY guy, it is over a $1K job easily and that is an independent price. Also, try to keep it overnight and see in the morning if any of the airbags sag/leak. (a known weak spot)

Being that you are a B5 S4 owner, I assume you are well aware of the 2.7T motor so you probably already know it's weak points.

Good luck, the ar is an awesome, all around vehicle to own...it can be very costly to own as well.

thanks for the reply, im a DIY guy ive done the TB on my S4 already. so the suspension airbags are a common issue. how can i test them in the car? i saw that button, how fast does it changed drive height?

Price seems a bit high unless it is a six speed which are rare. heck you can have my 04 tip with 55k miles, full service history, 1 year warranty and APR chip for $14k.

Many issues to wrry about:

TC known problem on 04 and earlier
many transmissions fail
air bags go frequently
many seal leaks
bushings to soft and wear out

I like my 04 but too many problems. I would never buy an AR without a warranty.

only thing that catches my attention is the replaced tranny. how does a tranny go bad in 50k? seems rather rare.
