Anyone order a 2024 yet?

Live in Canada and learned that 2024 allotment available for order. Estimated June/July delivery.

Anyone order one yet?

coldrain85 01-20-2023 01:00 PM

There is no US build guide yet, and I don't expect to see one before April. If that ends up being the case, US deliveries probably won't begin until Q4 2023.

aquarian 01-20-2023 01:01 PM

No, but definitely would like to when it's possible. Anyone know if we can order in the US yet?

We’ll be turning our Tesla Model Y lease in to the dealer in June. We’ll likely come up with a plan to bridge the gap so we can get into the refreshed 2024. Watching this closely as the year progresses.

Hello,

I have already placed an order for a Q8 e-tron sportback since last December at a dealership in Montreal (I'm the first). I have attached the Canadian ordering guide for this model. You notice that there is only one version with option groups. I do not yet have a precise date of manufacture or delivery.

For those Canadians. Here is the complete order guide

Hawksie 01-21-2023 05:39 AM

Very Cool! What colour/wheel combinations did you go with? Were you able to see better images of wheels and new colours any where?

Ian777 01-21-2023 06:29 AM

Very interesting... no more Technik trim, but option packages instead.
By any chance do you have the guide for the non-sportback?

Very reasonable starting prices. I was expecting above 100K$. I guess the weak Euro is helping.

Which dealer in Montreal? I had a horrible experience at Audi St-Laurent last summer (related in another thread on this forum) and hoping to find a better one if I decide on getting the Q8 (it's still fairly high on my list).

It's Audi St-Laurent. However, I retained the services of a broker who took care of all the negotiation and communication with the dealer. In fact, he was the one who suggested Audi St-Laurent to me. He also arranged a test drive for me last October and everything went well.

So if the Canadian MSRP is CAD$95k, does that mean that in the US it'll be around USD$75k?

95K CAD is about 71K US right now. The Chronos/Prestige trim, or whatever they end up calling it, will be close to 100K US out the door.

I'm happy with my 2022 for now. I don't think the 2024 is enough of an improvement for me to want to upgrade this year. Hopefully a new platform will be available in 2025-26. I'm hoping for something a little bigger with a range of 300+ with me driving.

biff2bart 01-22-2023 01:24 AM

Yes, I'm also in Canada and was contacted by my dealer at the beginning of the year, starting that they had the MY24 order guide.

Stoked about the ability to order features piecewise: this is really nice.

Order has been placed, but as others have said no confirmed delivery date other than "summer 2023…"

I'm still pretty happy with my 2019, I just want the bigger battery in the '24 so I can get a couple dozen more miles when towing. And I wouldn't mind the facelift either. Do we have any kind of confidence in what the '25 will be? Will that be the new platform with the all new Linux-based MMI that fixes all the bugs (and adds a thousand new ones)?

aquarian 01-31-2023 09:25 AM

Canada doesn't get Premium Plus or Prestige?

It's different now - everything is piecewise, instead of being put into "packages". In Canada, we used to have "Progressive' (which was Premium in the USA) and "Tecknik" (which was Prestige in the USA). You can see that here with the current e-tron: https://www.audi.ca/ca/web/en/models...ild-price.html

Canadian cars also came spec'd a bit differently: I think every car had the cold weather package and heated steering wheel.

For the introduction of the MY24 e-tron, it seems like Audi Canada picked the most popular options that the market would want and just made them available piecewise to the base model. So, you can order "premium" or "prestige" or most anything in between, though I don't think ALL options are included (e.g. there are only 4 wheel options where we're seeing additional options in the EU) and there is no "S-Line", though there is a separate black optics package.

I agree. My lease is up in May. Right now I'm inclined to buy out the lease and hold onto the car for another year or two, until Audi gets its act together or BMW decides to do plastic surgery on the i series.

While I have absolutley NO clue about this...

My guess would be:

E-tron facelift from (calendar year) 2023 - 2025: 3 years minimum, maybe 4 years.

New EV specific platform Q8 e-tron launched in 2026 as a MY26 / MY27 (MY26 for EU / MY27 for those of us in N. America).

Real question will be what happens to the car and does it get bloated in size like the Q8 is or does it stay in it's relatively unique current crossover size...

Q8 e-tron is skipping the PPE and going directly to SSP.

SSP will be the only platform for VW in the future

By combining different modules with various sizes of platform, the Group’s brands also have a host of opportunities to differentiate themselves.

From 2025, Audi’s Artemis project will use significant SSP modules for the first time. In 2026, Volkswagen will introduce this technology to the high-volume segment with its first model based on the SSP – the “Trinity” project.

Models

The first models from Audi on this platform is expected to by
  • Audi Q8 e-tron in 2025 as 2026 model (Artemis project)
  • Audi A8 e-tron in 2026 as 2027 model (Apollon project)

Audi seems so far from getting even the Q6 onto the PPE, I really discount ANY schedule that mentions the SSP. I might even settle for the faux-Q8-etron on the MLB-evo platform. It seems to be something Audi can actually make. But, for my lease conundrum, I would not expect to be able to get into one until at least 9 months after my lease expires.

I updated my post :)

The main point was that I think only one or two years of facelift will be too little, but I honestly have no more of a clue than anyone else here...

You will probably be pleasantly surprised at the lease buy-out number. My ‘19 Prestige cost me $40,400 which for the low miles, (27K) and in excellent condition I leaped on. This was two months before lease termination.

I have about a year left on my lease and my buyout at lease end is $39.4k. The car hasn’t even hit 10,000 miles on the odometer (WFH life) so I’m hoping I’ll have some equity. But who knows what the car market will be like in 2024.

Good to hear. I'm planning to schedule a meeting with the Audi lease folk sometime this month.

I was able to take care of everything with a brief phone call to AFS. Told them I wanted to buy out the lease; paperwork received about 10 days later; Fedex’d it back and had the payoff documents about 2 weeks later. Then off to the DMV.

Here in KS there is no requirement to have to do this at an Audi dealership which made it so simple. I’m assuming OR mandates you need to visit an Audi dealer?

That about OR, I do not know. This is my first leased car and so would be the first "buy out" I would execute. I plan to look over all the options Audi has.

Call AFS and ask to speak to the Lease Termination Dept and you might be able to bypass the dealership ‘experience’ completely. Now, if you’re interested in financing the residual or want to explore extended warranty options, etc. then your local Audi dealership would be my first place to start.

Good luck

My lease buy-out price is about $40.5K. I generated "snapshot" estimates of my car's value based on my RecurrentAuto report (RecurrentAuto has been collecting data on my car since Jan 2020). It estimates that my car's current trade-in/private-sell value is in the $49K to $51K range. The AudiCare package is good for 5years (from Nov 2019) and the car only has 19K miles on it and is in great condition. More and more, a lease buy-out seems to be in my future.

Amazing... hopefully you can post your real world range figures when you get it and drive for a few weeks :)

My SA in Central Florida doesn't see any Q8 e-trons coming into the US yet. He can't check Canada. Probably be a big price increase from the current model.

Hopefully not.

In Canada price increases are pretty small - a few % points perhaps...

My local dealer emailed me this.

You can start ordering them, but they asked me for a $2000 deposit, and they couldn't provide me with the pricing of the vehicle.

If I compare it with the Canadian version, I can imagine how much it might cost. But the options are different all along.

Just Ordered

I live in the the US and just put an order in using the US dealer guide he sent me. The dealer told me build in May with delivery in mid-late summer. He said prices are like to be 1-3% higher than current model. We’ll see…

suttoni 02-22-2023 12:17 PM

Just received a form letter from my dealer offering to replace my 2019 Prestige with a 2023 MY Chronos Quattro for the low, low price of only $47K. "And if you call in the next 10 minutes, we'll send you a second Chronos Quattro absolutely free, just pay the shipping and handling".
