I hate OEM style crimp clamps. I put in the 710N bypass valves and now I need to get
some new 5mm ID vacuum hose and a couple of those bastard crimp clamps. Does anyone know of the right tool to use to crimp the new ones down given that they are in such a tight spot?
Thanks |
I just use adjustables from Home Depot and they have never failed me.....

I used wire cutters...on recommendation from a shop. Pinched it perfectly.

I thought about that last night but with my luck, I'll cut the top of the clamp off. I'll buy a
couple spares and give it a shot. thanks

$3 end cutters, meet grinder :)
Get a cheap set of end cutters (the ones with the blades at 90° to the pliers, hope you know what I mean) and grind down the edge a bit. Cheaper the better since good ones will take longer to grind :)
Or just use zip ties and screw clamps. That's what I do in most cases. I hate crimp clamps :( |
Dull wire cutters breed well in captivity. I have about 3 to choose from.
