Anyone want to help me try to trouble shoot this?

Sometimes my screen doesn't come on and the whole MMI system doesn't come on. It might be coincidence that it happens during cold and wet weather, but the biggest thing is that I found to fix it:

1) Re-seat rear trunk 7.5amp MMI fuse in fusebox D.

2) re-seat front passenger 5amp MMI fuse

Neither fuse is blown. But re-seating them gets the system to boot again. No signs of moisture on floor or carpet and amp looks fine.

Either my unit is defective or there's an issue elsewhere? I'm calling to place I got the unit from and verifying with them.

Have you ever checked with OBD if there are any errors related to the infotainment ? If no moisture in places mentioned by you check between MMI wiring / inside cockpit, I would start with this and then try to replace the system with a similar one from another vehicle/temporary swap if possible - an alternative is a visit to the service...

Did that with nothing coming up. HOWEVER, i reset the unit with a cell phone sim pin and that seemed to fix it and everything booted up again. took it back to the shop who put it in and they did a factory reset on the unit as well. If it happens again they said they'll just swap it out.

Pulled my RS Nav back out

Sorry for replying to an old post. I'm getting ready to sell my SQ5 so I pulled my RS Nav unit out and put the stock unit back in. Is there any interest in a unit for a 2015 SQ5?

How old is it?
